About Shock Help

We are electricians who answer the phone at 2 a.m. and still do the job properly. This is who we are and how we work.
●  OUR STORY

Built Around the Calls Nobody Else Wants to Take

Shock Help started with a simple observation: most electrical emergencies happen outside office hours, and that is exactly when it is hardest to find someone competent. Families were left without power overnight, shops lost a day’s trading, and too many faults were patched with oversized breakers or taped joints that failed again a week later.

We set out to be the team people could call at any hour and trust completely. That means trained electricians rather than general handymen, vans stocked to finish most repairs on the first visit, and a working culture where nobody is rushed into cutting corners.

Today our work ranges from single-socket repairs to full rewires, distribution board upgrades, lighting design and backup power. The common thread is the same standard on every job: test first, explain clearly, fix properly, test again.

●  WHAT WE STAND FOR

Four Values That Shape Every Job

These aren’t slogans on a wall. They are the habits our electricians follow from the first phone call to the final test.

Safety Is Non-Negotiable

Isolation, lock-off and proving dead on every job. We would rather lose ten minutes than take a risk with your home or our team.

Plain-Language Honesty

We explain what failed, what it will cost and what can wait. If something is fine, we tell you so and do not sell work you do not need.

Do It Once, Do It Right

Correct cable sizes, proper terminations and quality components mean repairs that last instead of call-backs.

Respect for Your Time

We give realistic arrival windows, keep you updated if anything changes and tidy up before we leave.

●  OUR APPROACH

How a Shock Help Visit Actually Works

Every electrician on our team follows the same four-stage method. It keeps visits predictable for you and keeps the work safe and traceable for us.

Step 1

We Listen First

Before we pick up a tool, we ask what happened, when it started, and what changed recently. Small details, like a new appliance or recent building work, often point straight to the fault.
Step 2

We Test, Not Guess

Insulation resistance, continuity, earth loop and RCD trip tests tell us exactly what is wrong. Guesswork leads to repeat failures and wasted money.
Step 3

We Agree the Price

You receive a clear, fixed quote and an explanation of the options. Urgent safety work is separated from improvements that can wait.
Step 4

We Finish Properly

Repairs are completed, tested, labelled and documented. You get a summary of the work and advice on keeping your system healthy.
●  OUR STANDARDS

The Checklist Behind Every Repair

Good electrical work is invisible when it is done right. These are the things you may never see, but they are what keep your property safe for years after we leave.
