Many distribution boards were installed long before air conditioners, induction hobs, water heaters and EV chargers became common. The result is a board that trips constantly, runs warm, or worse, never trips when it should. Old rewireable fuses and boards without earth-leakage protection offer far less protection than a modern installation.
We assess your board, the incoming supply and your actual electrical demand. Then we recommend the right solution: replacing individual faulty breakers, adding RCD or RCBO protection, installing surge protection, splitting overloaded circuits or replacing the whole board.
Every upgrade includes proper labelling so you can see at a glance which breaker controls what, plus full testing of every outgoing circuit. That way, the new board is protecting a system we know is sound.
Breakers that trip during normal use often mean overloaded circuits or a board that is no longer suitable.
Heat, scorch marks or a burning smell at the board are serious. Call immediately.
Without earth-leakage protection, a fault can give a dangerous shock without tripping anything.
Rewireable fuses can be fitted with the wrong wire rating, removing the protection they are meant to provide.
If nobody knows which breaker controls what, isolating a fault safely becomes guesswork.
New AC units, cookers or EV chargers usually need dedicated circuits and spare board capacity.
