Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you use our website or book an electrical service.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of shockhelp.com and any electrical services provided by Shock Help. By using the website or booking a service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy.

2. Our Services

Shock Help provides emergency electrical repair, wiring and rewiring, distribution board upgrades, lighting installation, EV charger and backup power installation, and electrical safety inspections. Descriptions on this website are general information. The exact scope of any job is set out in the quote or job sheet we provide.

3. Quotes and Pricing

  • Quotes for planned work are free and remain valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Emergency and out-of-hours visits carry a call-out charge, which we tell you before dispatching an electrician.
  • After diagnosis, we provide a fixed price for the repair. Work begins only after you approve it.
  • If we discover hidden defects during work, such as concealed cable damage, we stop and agree any additional cost with you before continuing.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the problem and safe access to the work area, distribution board and meter.
  • Tell us about known hazards, such as asbestos, structural issues, aggressive animals or previous electrical incidents.
  • Obtain any permissions needed from landlords, building management or owners’ associations.
  • Not attempt to use or alter circuits we have isolated and labelled as unsafe.

5. Safety Rights

Our electricians may refuse to start or continue work, or may disconnect a circuit, if they reasonably believe there is an immediate danger to people or property. We will explain the reason and the options available to you.

6. Materials and Ownership

Materials we supply remain our property until paid for in full. Where you supply your own fittings or equipment, you are responsible for their suitability, and the manufacturer’s warranty applies to them. We will advise you if a supplied item is unsafe or unsuitable for its intended location.

7. Payment

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on completion of the work. For larger projects, we may request a deposit or staged payments, which will be set out in the quote. Late payments may delay future appointments.

8. Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for the period stated on your invoice. If a fault arises because of our workmanship within that period, we will return and correct it at no charge. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, alterations by others, power surges from the supply network, or wear and tear of consumable items such as lamps.

9. Limitation of Liability

We take care to protect your property during our work. Our liability is limited to the cost of the work concerned, except where the law does not allow such a limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or data, or for pre-existing defects that were outside the scope of our work.

10. Website Use

Content on this website is for general information and may be updated without notice. You may not copy, reproduce or misuse website content, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use the contact form to send spam or harmful material.

11. Changes and Contact

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of booking applies to that job. Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@shockhelp.com.
